UC is Sweden’s leading supplier of digital company and consumer information services. The company has around 220 employees and had previously rented a 4,000 sq m premises in Marievik. But after the pandemic and much working from home, the premises will no longer be suitable for their new working methods. Ferax was entrusted to take on the complete assignment with evaluating working methods, the size of the premises and how UC could best attract tomorrow’s employees. UC moved into around 1,150 sq m in the Waterfront Building on Klarabergsviadukten in central Stockholm.

“Enjoying one’s workplace is an important part of well-being. An office needs to offer something the home does not have, and that’s meeting with colleagues. At work, we should feel inspired by the input we get from others, and the office environment truly has to do its part here,” says Anette Ellsäter at Ferax.
Because UC’s wishes included working with natural materials such as wood, fabrics and textiles with sustainable profiles and furniture from Scandinavian designers, Ferax chose Savo 360 in oak with a layer-by-layer design from Olle Lundberg, with fabric made from 45 per cent recycled wool.
“Savo 360 truly comes into its own here. It’s a hybrid chair with a Scandinavian design that is sustainable from a circular economy perspective,” says Anette Ellsäter.

Ferax was also entrusted with overall responsibility for interior design, the choice of surface materials, colour schemes, furnishing, relocation logistics and project management for technology. In laying out the office, it was important to create smart environments with mobile, flexible furniture.
“The chairs are neat, stylish and ergonomic, and together with EFG’s HideAway meeting table with a foldable top and castors, it’s easy to roll away the table and chairs to change the setting quickly!”
